Thank you .. ;):XD: and yes I do .. I was born in Akron, Ohio spent my childhood in the countryside of Doylestown, OH .. high school in Mansfield, OH .. College in Cleveland (Case Western Reserve Univ) .. USAF for a few (North Dakota .. hated it) .. and back to Mansfield .. until last year when I bought my farm in Montpelier, Oh .. 10 Miles east of Indiana and 2 miles south of Michigan (REAL RURAL) but I love it .. my goal is to create a self-suficent Farm and Art Studio .. open by invitation to share with other DAs

most of my extended family is in michigan. my mother's family is from kalamazoo and petosky and my father's family is from an itty bitty little town in southern michigan, if they want to go to the mall or go out to eat, etc. they have to go to south bend. lol.
my father is a military historian and he was commissioned by the ND government to write a book about the history of their national guard. he spent a lot of time in ND for a couple of years when i was a kid. the book is huge and BOOOOORRRING! he hated it there too.

your plan sounds delightful! very idealistic! do you keep animals?

we eat local, organic, sustainable food, as much as we can. we buy most of our food at a local farmer's market.
i approve! hahah

I Know the Feeling If I want a Walmart I have 2 choices both 20 mile drives .. if I want a selection of stores an hour .. Mansfield is 3 and a half hrs away and I still go home monthly to visit family Mom and Step father .. my Uncle lives in Elyria and my brother and his wife are both engineers for Toyota and live in Pinckney, MI

As for animals ,, not yet but planning this year, my farm has a barn and chicken coup as well as a grainery , I just purchased 13 additional acres making my farm 15. I plan on raising Chickens for Eggs and meat, rabbits, a goat or two for milk and meat, maybe a few turkeys .. a few pigs in the future too .. I have lots of wild turkey and deer for hunting too .. a large herd always ends up back at my waterhole (pond) 5 deer limit per year and no hunting license required on your own property .. I also plan to add a pond for catfish and bluegill maybe some cows but they are not as efficient a use of acerage

I am alspo planting an orchard this year .. apples pears amd peaches cherries maybe a plum or too .. and blueberry bushes .. raspberries .. already have gooseberries and black berries and currants .. BIG Strawberry patch :iconhappybounce:
